Responsibilities

Responsible for HVAC mechanical design process including system design and evaluation, engineering calculations, preparation of specifications, design document preparation and performance of design reviews. Ensures accuracy, completeness, and compliance of documents and designs to applicable international, national and local codes and standards.

Experience

Prior to graduation and during graduate school, John was employed by the Industrial Assessment Center at Mississippi State; a Department of Energy service that provide energy, productivity, and waste assessments to small to medium-sized manufactures in Mississippi. While at the Industrial Assessment Center, John routinely investigated and evaluated manufactures to find ways to reduce waste and energy usage and increasing productivity. He was also responsible for methods of implementation and payback and lifecycle analysis.

John joined Canon Engineering, LLC (Gulfport, MS) in 2005 as an engineer intern. There he was responsible for the design of domestic water, sewage, storm water, compressed air, natural gas, medical gas, equipment sizing, ductwork, and heating and cooling loads for commercial, Healthcare, institutional, government, and industrial buildings and facilities.

John joined CLA in October, 2007.

Keith Bryant - Graduate Electrical Engineer

Don Bryson - Construction Administration

Responsibilities

As Construction Administrator, Don is responsible for site observations during construction for all projects. His duties also include review of drawings and specifications prior to the bidding process. He has experience in dealing with IBC and NEC code issues. Don is involved in commissioning of all mechanical and electrical systems on projects as well as on site training for users. Don has play a vital role in project coordination and review between in-house departments before projects are released for bid. He is also on our in-house standards committee.

Experience

Don joined C.S. Poole Mechanical and Electrical in 1973 as a general laborer. During his tenure he was involved in the installation of HVAC, Plumbing and Electrical systems in Healthcare, Instatutional, Industerial and government projects.

Don joined JESCO M&E in 1982 as a general lead installer for MEP systems. During his tenure he was involved in the installation of HVAC, Plumbing and Electrical systems in Healthcare, Instatutional, Industerial and government projects.

Don joined Conditioned Air in 1991 as a project superintendent of MEP systems. During his tenure he was involved in the installation of HVAC, Plumbing and Electrical systems in Healthcare, Instatutional, Industerial and government projects. He was promoted to project manager and estimater in 1999. During this time he was responsible for all phases of MEP construction projects including estimating.

Experience

Upon graduation, Creig was employed by the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) as a Power Utilization Engineer. During his six and a half years with TVA, Creig provided technical and design assistance to building owners, design professionals and facilities managers on issues concerning energy utilization in both new and existing commercial, industrial and institutional facilities.

Creig joined JESCO in July of 1987 as a project manager / engineer. In this position, he was responsible for design and construction of primarily industrial design/build projects acting as both designer and project manager for the mechanical and electrical construction. In May of 1994, he was promoted to Vice President of Engineering. In this position, Creig directed and supervised all mechanical and electrical design for JESCO’s design / build construction program which involved multiple industrial projects across the Southeastern region of the USA.

Creig joined The McCarty Company, Design Group in July of 2000 as Manager of Engineering. The McCarty Company, Design Group is an architectural and engineering firm specializing in services for Healthcare, Institutional, Government, Commercial and Industrial clients. In this position, he was responsible for managing the mechanical and electrical services of the Tupelo, Mississippi engineering team.

Joseph Garcia - Electrical Designer

Starting in 1998 Joseph began his career working closely with professional electrical and mechanical engineers. Over time he contributed and completed electrical designs for jobs ranging from healthcare to the automotive industry. Understanding the need for knowledge of construction coordination Joseph worked on the contractor side of engineering gaining valuable experience in design build construction of all major disciplines. Companies worked for include: Windsor Engineering (electrical consulting engineers), HESM&A (MEP consulting engineers), Jon D. Rice & Associates (electrical consulting engineers), Edwards Electric Services (a division of Yates Construction - electrical contractors) & Fountain Construction Company (GC).

David Howe - Senior Electrical Designer

Education

Responsibilities

As senior plumbing / electrical designer, David is responsible for the Autocad production and design of plumbing and electrical drawings on all projects. He provides lighting calculations for both interior and exterior designs. He is well versed in several major lighting software and analysis programs. He also provides plumbing calculations for domestic water, water heating, sewer piping and medical gas systems. David has also helped to develop company Autocad standards for our company.

Experience

Upon graduation, David was employed by JESCO in 1983. In this position, he was responsible for design and document production for commercial and industrial projects at JESCO’s Mechanical & Electrical Division.

David joined The McCarty Company, Design Group in July of 2000 as a Senior Designer. The McCarty Company, Design Group is an architectural and engineering firm specializing in services for Healthcare, Institutional, Government, Commercial and Industrial clients. In this position, he was responsible for design and document production of the mechanical and electrical services for the Tupelo, Mississippi engineering team.

David’s experience includes design, drafting and estimating for plumbing and electrical systems for commercial, industrial, institutional facilities in both new and renovated types of construction. David has twenty one (24) years experience in design and construction.

Design experience includes engineering calculations for domestic water piping, sanitary drainage, storm drainage, water heater sizing, medical gas piping, indoor and outdoor illumination and electrical power distribution. David is also involved in layout and design of nurse call, security, low voltage, door access control and voice data systems.

Cad experience includes an excellent knowledge of AUTOCAD and third party design aids which interface with AUTOCAD. He is proficient with illumination design software programs and customized spread sheets integrated with AUTOCAD.

Estimating experience includes the take-off of material and equipment utilized in plumbing, mechanical and electrical systems.

Kimberly Jeffares - Graduate Mechanical Engineer

Experience

Prior to graduation, Kimberly worked with Mississippi State Univeristy Mechanical Engineering department as an undergraduate research assistant. Projects included the Miro-CHP demonstration facility which provided the university with the capacity to develop and optimize the implementation and use of CHP packages for energy conservation, efficiency, and reliability. The Micro-CHP center provides CHP feasibility research information and develops CHP systems suitable for agricultural, residential, and small commercial buildings. Her responisblities included product and system research, brochure literature,and graphic design.

Joe joined John Clark Hudson and Associates (Sardis, MS) in May of 1980 as an Electrical Designer. During his eight and one half years with this firm, Joe provided lighting, power and low voltage system designs on a wide variety of projects including Commercial, Industrial, Healthcare, Government and Religious facilities. Joe was involved with projects that ranged in size from $500K - $5M in total construction dollars.

Joe joined Smith Seckman Reid (Nashville, TN) in November of 1988 as a Senior Electrical Designer and project manager. In this position, he was responsible for designing electrical systems for healthcare facilities on the east coast of the United States. Joe’s duties included lighting, power and low voltage systems design including fault current, selective breaker coordination studies and analysis of electrical systems designed on his team. Joe was also responsible for the construction administration of all projects that he designed. During his tenure with this firm Joe completed his electrical engineering degree. Joe was involved with projects that ranged in size from $5M - $120M in total construction dollars.

Joe joined Gene Burton and Associates (Franklin, TN) in November of 1997 as a Senior Communications Planner. Gene Burton and Associates is a medical equipment and communications planning firm specializing in the design of Healthcare facilities. In this position, he was responsible for designing and managing the communication and low voltage system needs for project. During his tenure with this firm Joe was involved with projects that ranged in size from $12M - $580M in total construction dollars.

Joe joined The McCarty Company, Design Group (Tupelo, MS) in January of 1999 as an Electrical Engineer. The McCarty Company, Design Group is an architectural and engineering firm specializing in services for Healthcare, Institutional, Government, Commercial and Industrial clients. Joe’s duties included lighting, power and low voltage systems design including fault current, selective breaker coordination studies and analysis of electrical systems designed for all projects. Joe was also responsible for the construction administration on all projects that he designed. Joe was promoted to Chief Electrical Engineer in January 2001. In this position, he was responsible for the design and preparation of drawings and specifications for the plumbing, HVAC, and electrical design-build projects. He was responsible for project control at the office management level including estimating, material procurement, scheduling, and technical assistance to the construction workers on the construction site Andy joined The Office of Griffith C. Burr, Inc. (Memphis, TN) in 1989 as a Project Manager for a mechanical-electrical consulting firm. He was responsible for the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) design of commercial buildings, industrial facilities, hotels, schools and universities, including drawings and specifications. Andy coordinated multiple mechanical designs with code enforcement officials throughout the United States. Andy joined Conditioned Air, Inc. (a mechanical-electrical design-build, service company in Tupelo, MS) in November 1991 as project manager. He was responsible for the project management of mechanical-electrical design-build and plan-spec projects which included estimating, purchasing materials and equipment, scheduling labor and shipments, monitoring labor and material costs, billing, collections, and job safety. He was responsible for mechanical and electrical designs for commercial and industrial facilities including drawing and specifications. Projects included commercial and industrial facilities, churches, universities, stadiums, schools, hospitals, and banks.

Robert interfaces with Architects and owners to help coordinate all phase of the HVAC design documents.

Robert’s experience includes design and construction of mechanical and electrical systems in both new and existing commercial industrial, institutional and educational facilities. Robert has five (5) years of experience in design and construction.

Cad experience includes a well rounded knowledge of AUTOCAD and third party design aids which interface with AUTOCAD. Robert routinely provides layout and design of ductwork, piping, and other mechanical systems.

Other experience includes four years as facility engineer and supervisor in a furniture manufacturing facility.
